    Teams of 5 — 5 players per side including the goalkeeper. Rolling substitutions allowed at any time — unlimited throughout the match.

    Two Halves of 20 Minutes — Standard format is 2 × 20-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time break. Overtime and penalty shootouts for knockout matches.

    No Slide Tackles — Slide tackles are prohibited in futsal — the pitch is too small and the risk of injury too high. Upright challenges only.

    Kick-ins Instead of Throw-ins — When the ball goes out over the sideline, it's restarted with a kick-in (not a throw-in). The ball must be stationary at the line.

    No Offside Rule — Unlike outdoor football, there is no offside in futsal. Use the full width and depth of the pitch without restriction.

    Goalkeeper Restrictions — Goalkeeper cannot receive a back-pass kicked by a teammate — must be headed or chested. Distributes by hand from inside own half.

    Accumulated Fouls — After 5 accumulated team fouls in a half, all subsequent fouls result in a direct free kick from the second penalty spot (no wall allowed).
